Continuous corporate and public sector consultancies in Arts Education programs, 1994 - 2001
For the last seven years as a full time programs coordinator and art tutor I have been responsible for enhancing existing and developing new visual arts ‘hands on’ activities during for the corporate and public sector such as councils, festivals and government departments for both families and young people. I am responsible for the designing and the smooth running of these courses whilst meeting the teaching various new and different arts skills.

City of Melville – Piney Lakes Reserve
2001/2002
Design and organiser of two week program for children linked to Environmental Educational Initiatives for the City of Melville. Taught workshops such as ‘Fantastical Insects’ (insect sculptures from bush materials) Teddy Bear’s Picnic, Clay Work, Frogs and Minibeasts, Little Boats that Sail and Float.
WA Department of Conservation and Land Management – The Hills Forest
1994 - 2001
Creation and management of in-house art projects linked to Environmental Educational Initiatives, (utilizing curriculum frameworks) custom designed for clients with varying needs such as family groups on weekends, school groups, children with intellectual or physical disabilities. Sourced all supplies and contract staff.
Town of Cambridge/Artrage
2000
Delivered ‘Wearable Art Award’ project with participants of the Cambridge Youth Centre. Tutored costume theory and wearable art production and sourced project materials, helping clients to access innovative design for the Artrage award.
Town of Cambridge/Youth Advisory Council
2001
Delivered ‘Mosaic’ project with participants of the Cambridge Youth Centre. Tutored mosaic technique to assist towards completion of a performance area.

Creation and management of in-house multi media art activities for audiences of up to 1000 young people from leisure centres and childcare centres meeting the corporate goals of programs at Whiteman Park.

Richmond Primary School
1998 – 2000
Program Manager of ‘Cartooning’ section of Richmond Primary School – devised and tutored ‘Friday Options’ - ongoing cartooning course at Richmond Primary School funded by the Parent’s and Citizens Association.
Collonnade Shopping Centre, Subiaco – two week holiday art program for 60 children. Tasks included devising the project in accordance with Centre Management’s brief, budgeting, purchasing materials and employing 6 staff. 1996.
The primary tasks in my career for the last seven years has been designing and marketing programs for children in the visual arts that link with educational initiatives of government and corporate organisations such as Rottnest Island Authority, Conservation and Land Management and Municipal Councils.
This has involved interpreting their key educational strategies and designing programs that children can interpret stimuli and reflect back their understanding artistically. Programs delivered have incorporated ceramics, painting, drawing, sound and performance art, multi-media installations, photography, video and art-history skills.

WA Department of Conservation and Land Management – The Hills Forest
1994 - 2001
My management of Hills Forest programs has involved consulting with CALM executives on their educational strategies for seasonal programs, designing courses suitable for families that enhance ecosystem appreciation and staffing professional artists.
An example of such a project was to manage a course for young people with visual disabilities, on the theme of endangered animals. I initiated a bushwalking trail experience whereby families could safely navigate the forest whilst being taught about local flora and fauna. The families then took art courses using bush materials and local clays to interpret what they had experienced on the trail.
Museum of Childhood – Edith Cowan University
1999 - 2001
Preparation and tutoring of a series of arts programs that included identification of collection features. The outcome was that students interpreted the museum exhibits by making historical Western Australian toys. I prepared information sheets that linked the art making with the collection.

City of Perth Youth Sculpture Award - Youth

As assistant curator, I was responsible for drafting correspondence and copywriting publicity material aimed to high school students. Communications duties included briefing young entrants on award guidelines and procedures of the award. This resulted in a high level of understanding of the thematic directions and guidelines for the sculpture award.

VIVA Portugal Festival – Portuguese Community

As Assistant Project Coordinator for the City of Cockburn, I assisted the Portuguese Cultural and Recreational Group with organisation of meetings, publicity such as media releases, conflict resolution in meetings and promotion of the relevance of visual art in cultural planning.
Office of Youth Affairs - Joy Festival - Young People with Disabilities
1998
As part of a needs assessment and consultation process I carried out preliminary art workshops at the Rocky Bay Village (Mosman Park) for people with disabilities.
The process of engaging the participants in interacting with festival audiences was through brainstorming and cultural mapping techniques.
Festival of the Wind, Esperance – A
2000
Sourced local aboriginal agencies in Esperance and negotiated their involvement with the Festival, working with them to achieve their dreams for the float, produce costumes, performance and floats for the parade. I developed a strategic plan together with the aboriginal groups using language in line with an indigenous protocol manual.
Trust and mutual respect was accomplished from my scheduling daily dialogues with young people and elders resulting in my being invited to collaborate in future projects with the Corporation.
Bay of Isles Aboriginal Corporation, Esperance Facilitation of Festival Float Project

Victoria Park Centre for the Arts

Assistant co-ordinator of the Victoria Park Art Awards 2000, I promoted the Victoria Park Arts Centre which employed me. Promoted the programs, encouraged people to become members.
